Year 12 Chemistry

In Week 8 of this term, we brought two teams of Year 12 Chemistry students to compete in the Royal Australian Chemical Institute Titration Competition, held at Southern Cross University in Lismore, facing off against schools from the Northern Rivers region, including Woodlawn, Trinity, and Lindisfarne. This competition inspires students to develop precision, critical thinking, and hands-on laboratory skills as they determine the unknown concentration of weak acids through meticulous acid-base titrations.

Our teams were solid competitors, securing 4th and 8th place out of 12 teams. All of our students demonstrated excellent laboratory technique and strong mathematical reasoning throughout the event. Special mention goes to Leon Pearce, who ranked 5th out of 36 students, impressing everyone with his masterful accuracy.

We are incredibly proud of our students for their dedication, teamwork, and commitment to scientific excellence.
