It has been a very busy year in Playgroup. Firstly a great big thank you for all the wonderful gifts that we have has received this year. The beautiful and sturdy wooden trucks are bringing so much joy to our children at Playgroup. Also the balancing frame has been an absolute hit, while fostering gross and fine motor skills, hand eye coordination and most of all wonderful social skills.
Thank you also to Janice, a knowledgable and warm hearted anthroposophical nurse, who came to talk to us about childhood diseases and how they can be prevented or treated, as well as some helpful information about the benefits of fevers in children.
With the gift of a large amount of fleece from a wonderful friend, the Playgroup parents and myself have had a lot of fun with felting, making mermaids, whales, play cloths and more. There are so many more creative projects in the wings for next year! We also made our own sauerkraut, a simple and fun way of saving costs in tricky financial times.
The children enjoyed ‘wet on wet’ watercolour painting, the first time for many. It was wonderful to see the children immerse themselves into the experience of colour.
The final thank you goes to our guinea pigs who have brought many hours of pleasure, and opportunities for loving care, to us all. Thank you everyone for making Playgroup such a special place to be.
