How to put up a notice
If you are a local not-for-profit community group, listings will be free (by prior arrangement).
For all individuals and businesses, the cost of advertising is as follows:
- Classified line ad $5 per fortnight (no images) or $20 per term. Maximum length 50 words.
- Display ad $10 per fortnight or $40 per term (jpg format preferred).
- Ads for services are on a per term basis only.

Accommodation Wanted. We are a family of five looking for accommodation from January. We are moving from Cairns so that my children can continue Steiner education. I am a Steiner teacher and my partner is currently Operations Manager for an organic flower farm. We are looking for options including house sitting, rental, cottage etc. Initially, it will just be me and my girls (14, 12 and 9) until my partner joins us. We are looking for accommodation for around 6 months. We currently live on acreage, we love animals and growing food and would be very happy to look after yours if you are planning on going away. Accommodation Wanted. Hello, we are a family living on our certified organic farm in Mt Molloy, Far North Queensland and we are now hoping to relocate to Mullumbimby for our 2 youngest children to attend Shearwater. Our two eldest children loved their Steiner school years and went through Chrysalis Steiner School in Bellingen from Kindy to Year 8, when we lived and farmed in Thora Valley. We moved to our FNQ farm 9 years ago and our 2 younger children have been in a combination of home schooling and part time attending a lovely, tiny local school in a nearby village. We now hope to offer them a Steiner education – especially for high school – and more socialisation within the vibrant Mullumbimby community. We know the Mullum area quite well and are searching for a home. We will return to our FNQ farm during school holidays and have others living on the farm to help care for things in our absence. We have a little caravan we could set up on land in Mullum, are happy to rent a cabin.. .whatever works. We would also love to share our beautiful FNQ property (110 acres with a permanent creek) for holiday stays. We plan to move to Mullum early next year in time for the start of the school year. For the first year, it will be only myself (mum)and our 9 year old daughter. Dad will follow next year (2027) with our 11 year old son. Our son will be in Year 6 at our local school next year and has been voted school captain – he does not want to pass up on this! So, for 2026, mum and 9 year old daughter are seeking a home for during the school term time. Nanny available. Hello lovely community of Shearwater. My name is Feather, and I have been involved with Shearwater since 2016. I am sure over the course of this time, I have taught your wonderful children. I have been working with children both in formal and informal settings, educational and personal situations for over 20 years. I have a Diploma of Steiner Education as well as a post grad teaching degree.
