New paths are a hit!

Recent visitors to the School may have noticed the extensive work that was done over the break, with new paths and landscaping in the Primary School and High School, following a successful application for a commonwealth government grant, to enhance and assist with all weather and disability access.

I’m delighted that the work has been completed on time and on budget and the initial aims of access have been exceeded. Our Primary School teachers have commented on how useful the pathway is, as a play area and a way of bringing additional structure to the students’ physical environment, and the positive effect that this has had on behaviour. It also allows students to keep their feet dry when the rain tumbles down!

A long-term Shearwater teacher said the new path and play areas feel like they have always been here; a testament to the collaborative process and excellent skills of the tradesfolk, and our focus on keeping site improvements appropriate to the environment.

Feel free to take a wander along the path!
