We began the year with a number of events to celebrate this special time of transition and new beginnings, including our Class 1 Crossing the Bridge ceremony on the first day of school, and our Welcome Day yesterday, for families new to Shearwater.

For our Class 1s, the looks on their faces said it all – a mix of  excitement, anticipation and awe, as they were welcomed into the Primary School by our graduating class, and delivered into the care of their new Class Teachers, Amy and Anja, who will travel with them for the next seven years.

Many of the parents who came along to Welcome Day may have felt some of the same emotions as they were taken on a journey through the ages and stages of the School by staff and students from Early Childhood to High School, beautifully completed by Year 12s Zemmer and Tia-Rose, who talked about their own Shearwater journeys and answered questions from the audience.

We wish all of our families a wonderful start to the term.
