Shearwater Live
Many of you may have had the opportunity to witness the musical talents of some of our High School students, including a crew of our Year 9 students who recently participated in Shearwater Live. Their talent, dedication, and passion for music were on full display, captivating the audience and leaving a lasting impression on everyone in attendance.
Throughout their performances, our Year 9 students showcased their musical abilities, hard work, and commitment to excellence. From rehearsing tirelessly to perfecting their pieces, they demonstrated a level of professionalism and maturity that is truly commendable.
Not only did our Year 9 students showcase their amazing musical talents at Shearwater Live, but a crew of students took on the responsibility of catering for Shearwater Live, and they did so with remarkable success! Their efforts, dedication, and teamwork were commendable, resulting in the fantastic food many of you and others enjoyed. Funds raised from food purchases will be donated to Seed Mob (https://www.seedmob.org.au/). The time these students gave to catering will be added to their twenty hours of in-school community service.
During the planning and execution, our Year 9 student leaders, Shivani and Milena, demonstrated exceptional organisational skills and a strong sense of responsibility. From menu planning to food preparation and service, along with their team of students, they approached each task enthusiastically and professionally, ensuring that every detail was attended to with care. A special mention to Shivani, our culinary extraordinaire, who oversaw all kitchen activities and made a significant difference in fostering a positive environment and leading our catering team, including myself, towards success, and Leela, our new Food Tech teacher who supported us. “We had so much fun,” said Shivani. “A personal highlight in the kitchen would definitely be making the pizzas, from scratch. I can’t wait to do it again next time!”
I am incredibly proud of our Year 9 students for their outstanding musical performances and catering efforts at Shearwater Live. Their dedication to their musical craft, support for one another, and willingness to push themselves beyond their comfort zones test their character, potential, and determination to excel in everything they do.
