Shearwater is nestled among the green hills of the Byron Shire hinterland, 3.5 km from Mullumbimby, and a short drive from some of the most beautiful coastline of NSW. The School began in 1993, and has a current enrolment of 500 (K – 12). Shearwater has double streaming for Preschool, Kindergarten and Primary Classes. The school operates across two campuses in Mullumbimby, with Preschool and Kindergarten on Main Arm Rd., and Playgroup and Years 1 – 12 at Left Bank Rd.

The School is currently seeking expressions of interest from Eurythmy teachers. Shearwater has an opportunity for experienced Eurythmy Teachers for Early Childhood through to High School, to build a Eurythmy and Speech Faculty to complement the school’s rich history of Eurythmy and Dramatic arts.

Marketing and Communications Coordinator

· Permanent Part-Time position (22.8 hours per week)
· Remuneration in line with Independent Schools NSW (Teachers) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2011-2014
About the Role
This newly created position will play a key role in attracting and retaining student enrolments. You will be responsible for marketing and promotion of the School and its events, including design of promotional material and media releases. You will establish an effective communication strategy for new and existing students including maintenance of the school website and newsletter. You will manage prospective student enquiries, and develop relationships with parents to ensure a smooth transition through the School enrolment process.
Requirements for the Position
The ideal candidate will hold a qualification or equivalent experience in Marketing or Communications, and at least 2 years experience in a Marketing or Communications role including Event Promotions. Experience in the Education sector and an understanding of Steiner/Waldorf education will be highly regarded.
Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Working with Children Check as required under the Child Protection (Working With Children) Act 2012.
