Enrolment Procedure
Choosing a school is one of the most important decisions that a family makes together. With so many options in the Byron Shire, the decision can seem daunting.
Our enrolment process is designed around this knowledge and is aimed at offering you, as a family, the optimal basis for your decision.
Step 1:
You can arrange for an enrolment interview through the School Office. An appointment will be made for you to visit Shearwater and speak with the School Registrar and/or the Head of School, Greg Parkes. The purpose of the interview is to discuss and answer questions about Steiner Education, our School, your child(ren) and suitability of Shearwater. We will also explain to you our school fees and the required parental commitment. During the interview, we can tell you about the Class determination and availability/waiting lists.
Step 2:
This is the interview between the prospective Teacher , your child(ren) and you, the family. The focus of this second step is for both parties to determine whether it is in everyone’s best interest for your child(ren) to join the Class(es), and when.
Step 3:
The Registrar will advise you if your child has been accepted into the School or onto the waiting list, and will share relevant administrative steps with you. You can share your specific concerns or wishes with the registrar and the formal enrolment can take place.
