Shearwater, the Mullumbimby Steiner School, is nestled among the green hills of the Byron Shire hinterland, 3.5 km from “the biggest little town in Australia”: Mullumbimby, New South Wales.
Our School acknowledges that it stands in Arakwal Country, a part of the Bundjalung Nation, and we take this opportunity to pay our respects to the traditional custodial owners, both past and present, as well as to the elemental and spiritual beings that cohabit this place.
I place myself steadfastly into existence.

WHY STEINER EDUCATION WORKS
Licensed clinical psychologist and credentialed school psychologist, Dr. Regalena ‘Reggie’ Melrose is the author of the ground-breaking books, You Can Heal Your Child (Bush Street Press, 2009) and Why Students Underachieve (Rowman & Littlefield, 2006). Earlier this year she published the essay “Why Steiner Education works”. A provocative article, looking at Steiner education from a neuroscientific angle. A must read!
